Applications

With 7 Centre of Excellence (CoE) in operation and funding granted to more than 40 Smaller Projects (SP) since the start of the FUT programme in 2000, the VREF have decided to evaluate all activities within the programme. The plan is to implement a new strategy for the research programme during 2008. As a consequence, VREF will no longer have general calls for applications. There will instead be directed calls to, e.g., certain research areas or geographical regions. Initially, we will focus our research funding on our larger Centre of Excellence projects, which means that we will not make a call for Smaller Projects in 2008.

Deadline for submission is September 15.

Submission of applications
Applications should be submitted electronically via a database (see below) and must be completed before the deadline, when the access to the database will be closed. Instructions for filling out the database form is found in the following document:

Write the application text (in English) in a word processor and then "copy-paste" it into the data base (make sure that you have your own backup as the Foundations will not be responsible for any losses of data when using the database).

Access to the database is obtained by sending an email to the Foundations secretary <info@volvoresearchfoundations.com>, stating the name of the main applicant (including email address), and requesting a password.

The Planning grant applications must be compleeted before September 15. After this date, the access to edit the applications in the database will be closed (i.e., the contents of the database can still be viewed, but not modified).

Follow the link below, select database "pl08" and provide the ID and password you have been given. Please, note that there are restrictions on the amount of text that could be added to each text-box of the application form (the form can not be saved until excessive text is removed). It should also be noted that the counter in Microsoft Word ignores line feed characters which causes a deviation from the database counter.
